Timothy M. Tift has enjoyed a successful career in education that spans 45 years at UCI. He currently serves as UCI’s Faculty Advisor to the Undergraduate Minor in Educational Studies, Lecturer Emeritus in the School of Education, Coordinator of the School of Education Teaching Assistants Program, and Coordinator of the Department of Education Peer Assistance Program. He has also served as Instructor for the UCI Department of Recreation Deep Water Fitness. Additionally, over his long and distinguished career at UCI, he has held the titles of Head Coach of Golf and Basketball, Chair and Lecturer of the Department of Physical Education, and Associate Director of UCI Athletics. He authored and co-authored a number of works to help athletes, including the Deep Water Fitness Manual, and The Passing Game, a basketball motion offense. Timothy received his M.A. degree in education administration and a B.A. degree in physical education from Pepperdine University. He was a founding member of the Californians for Patient Care Board of Directors, serving as Chair of the Board for five years. Timothy has been honored by the California State Legislature with Member Resolution No. 641, inducted into the UC Irvine Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004, and received the coveted UNEX Distinguished Faculty Award in 1998. With the completion of his term on the Californians for Patient Care Board of Directors, Tim plans to enjoy his well-earned retirement.
