Gerald D. Parham is the youngest of four children born to Willie D. and Sadie F. Parham. Currently he is the Director of Camp Program Development for the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at UCI. In this capacity he is responsible for the development of the curriculum utilized by the department’s sports camps that help develop character, leadership skills, and a sense of responsibility in the youth between the ages of 5-18. Prior to his transition to Athletics, he spent several years as the Director of Palo Verde Housing, a graduate and family housing community, on the campus. He completed his B.A. at UCI 1977. He has additional graduate training in Counselor Education from the University of Florida. He returned to Southern California and joined the UC Irvine staff in June of 1998. He is a Past-President of the Black Faculty and Staff Association. He is the father of a 28 year old son, Brandon, who lives with his wife ChaKia, in Memphis, TN.
